Thanks for stopping by! Welcome to my corner of the internet. π»
I am currently based in Utrecht, The Netherlands π³π±, but I've also spent a significant amount of time in Orange County, California πΊπΈ.
I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from Utrecht University and a BSc in Psychology & Technology from TU/e.
I consider myself a jack of all trades, which is reflective of both my grad school experience and my hobbies. I love learning, and I am generally comfortable dropping my ego when it comes to new skills or technologies. Despite this, I've spent the past couple of years mastering data management using SQL. This interest sparked during my time at Floryn, where I migrated the company from Looker to Metabase (check out our case study) and refactored legacy code from LookML to dbt.
I also advocate for open-source software, which leads me to...
community
"de maatschappij, dat ben jij"Where it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a random person in Nebraska thanklessly maintaining a project since 2003 to keep all modern infrastructure up and running.
I strongly believe that we can make the world a better place if we hold by the campground rule and leave things better than how we found them. As a woman in tech, I have received a lot of opportunities that allowed me to get to where I am in my career - the kickstart being a Kode With Klossy scholarship in 2016. Whether tech-related or not, I strive to give back to the community where I can, so others can receive even more opportunities than I did.
In terms of OSS, I've contributed to the following repositories:
Outside of my IDE, my community involvement includes:
- reviewing applications for NCWIT's Aspirations in Computing HS award
- attending dbt meetups, and even organizing + speaking at one
- publishing hidden gems on Atlas Obscura
